Lost to a better team...

Sat. 15 Nov.: Cosmoleague, Casuals - Vikings FC   4 - 0   (3 - 0)


While we were missing 3-4 of our normal attacking players, we were looking solid defensively and had hopes of repeating our suprise 0-0 with Casuals from last season and to built on our solid win against Hotspurs last week. Unfortunately Casuals got the opening goal a bit too quick, and as our midfield did not manage to put pressure on the creative Casuals midfielders, they were allowed to continuously make the right passes exposing the lack of speed in the Vikings defence.

It became 2 and 3-0 before half time and while Causals seemed to take the foot of the pedal during 2nd half we were looking better, with a few good freekick attempts by Kim and a nice shot by Adib. Subs Johan, Adib, Danfoss and Michael Oestergaard all did well, and with 5 guys missing from the hotspurs win, its gonna be a tough call for the coach to pick his next starting 11 in two weeks time against the french. Unfortunately the goal came in the other end and once again Casuals combined for a really nice goal.

MOM is shared between Impact and new keeper Martin Thorup who despite of playing maybe his 7th match in as many years, showed that he is there to compete for a spot with the Vikings. The loss was celebrated with a bbq/drink out at coach Rafa's and we now seem well prepared to go to Phuket next weekend.

Thanks to Casuals, who in our eyes is a well managed team built on communication (its never quiet in there) and fantastic organization. And thanks to the ref. for a good game.
